About The Founder
Gemma is founder of The Independent Safeguarding Consultancy, an experienced police detective sergeant with over 20 years’ experience investigating serious and complex offences. Having seen firsthand that arrests and investigations often come too late to prevent harm, she shifted her focus to prevention—helping organisation’s act before crises occur.
Drawing on her investigative expertise and real-world case experience, Gemma developed the Safeguarding Intelligence Method™ to deliver education and training packages which are informative, trauma-informed and will stand up to scrutiny, they go beyond compliance, teaching consent, boundaries, power, and accountability in ways that genuinely protect people.
A White Ribbon UK Champion and mother of two boys, she is dedicated to building safer cultures that prevent violence against women and girls while guiding young men to make better choices.
